Cliff
I started working at HI-Lake Louise Alpine Centre in October of 2006. I had friends from my hometown of Windsor ON, who were already working at the hostel so I thought I'd give it a try. Knowing a few people on staff and seeing what a close crew they had made me want to be a part of the hostel. I lived in staff accommodation on-site and it was a good way to meet new people and really get to know them outside of work.
Currently I am working at the brand new and beautiful HI-Whistler. With HI's large network of hostels across Canada there is a lot of opportunity to live and work in different areas of the country. Whistler is another amazing area for me to explore. The ski hill is close to home and I'm looking forward to many mountain bike areas this summer.
I think the best memories I have so far come from travelling around the area. The ability to stay at other hostels for free makes travelling much easier and more affordable. I have gone to Calgary, Jasper, Banff, Canmore, Montreal, Niagara Falls, Toronto and stayed at the HI in each place and had so many adventures.
